stop scanning my server

We will stop probing a server and never contact it again. You do not need an account with us. You do need to show the server is yours, and you do that by putting a short code in the server's MOTD, the description players see next to it in their server list.

[what this does and does not do]

We stop probing that address and port, and will not contact it again.
We cannot stop anyone else. Other people scan for Minecraft servers too, and opting out here has no effect on them.
It lasts a year. Ask again with the same address to extend it.
Census figures we have already published are not recalculated.
Opting out is not protection. If the server lets in anyone who knows the address, it still does. Securing it is the thing that changes that.

[if you cannot change the MOTD]

Some hosts do not let you edit server.properties, and a proxy in front of a server answers with its own MOTD rather than the one behind it. Write to [email protected] with the address and we will do it by hand.
